The city has lots of wild life right in the city. Dear, Eagles, Hawks, Fox, Coyote, and many more. Wind surfing, hiking and loads of things to do. The cities motto is " Superior by Nature " and it holds true.
Boulevard Lake and Trowbridge Falls are part of the Current River system and I remember fondly swimming at both places on hot summer days. The recent rains make for a good flow on the river. You can see the layers of rock that were formed over millions of years as the river cuts its path to eventually find itself at Lake Superior.
Note - check out the fish ladder at Boulevard Lake Dam in the spring some day.
