Nearly manage to sleep late today but unfortunately we have to check out at 10am which puts paid to that. After a huge breakfast at a local cafe we head to Busselton again as the weather is better today and hopefully the observatory will be open.

We arrive and thankfully its open, we buy tickets for a tour, as its too small to explore on your own, then sit an eat ice cream by the beach and watch the world go by. Its overcast but warm and the beach is pretty busy.

Half an hour before the tour starts we walk out along the jetty to the observatory as its a 2km walk. As we walk, the sun comes out and the walk is very pleasant with clear, blue sea on both sides and people fishing from the jetty. The jetty itself is quite a rickety thing and only has fencing on one side, leaving the other exposed to the sea. I'm pretty sure they've closed safer piers than this back home.

At the observatory the guide takes us down 6 flights of stairs to the main deck which is about 8m underwater. The water picks up a tropical drift from the north so there are a pretty good selection of fish and the jetty's props act like coral to provide food and shelter for the fish. We see quite a few fish but the highlight is a shoal of fish being attacked by a diving comorand which unfortunately we don't manage to get a picture of.

The observatory is pretty good and is kinda like snorkelling withough having to get wet or look stupid.

From there, we drive back inland to Frankland though forests again and along some of the windiest, hilly roads I've ever seen. At one point we must be at the highest altitude we've been at so far in Oz and from there the road winds back down to sea level again. We pass a sign which warns of a Road Hazard Ahead but doesn't specify what it is. I don't see anything but drive carefully in case there are dinosaurs, monster trucks or other dangers ahead.

Back at the shack, we unpack, eat dinner and then hit the hay.
