Turns out it wasn't just Devas and Izzy arriving on Phi Phi that day - pretty much the whole Vang Vieng gang had arrived. After a mandatory visit to Papaya, to eat a week's worth of food, and a few reunion drinks up in Banana Bar it was down to the beach for more of the same-same.. flaming skipping rope, ring of fire, free shots and buckets.
The whole next day was spent sitting on the beach soaking up the rays, wading out into the incredibly shallow water to cool down periodically. Bodies weren't quite up to another beach assault that night so we went for a chilled out evening. A cosmic Cosmic dinner to start, complete with top class western service, an unheard-of occurrence in Asia! Then it was down to the massage parlour for an hour of Thai oil massage for just a few quid, followed by a few rounds of poker and some matchstick logic games to complete the night. Got to love Thailand!
The next day started off with a terrible breakfast, not a great send-off for Maria! Then back down the beach for another hard day's snoozing... three days of that in the row and it's time to get on with the 'travelling' part of travelling...
