The railway line starts up again in Andalsnes, so I spent a night there before getting the train to Trondheim. It was enough really as the town itself was quite nondescript, though the surroundings made up for it with mountains everywhere you looked.

There was another cruise ship docked there, and it has to be said that I am something of a rarity in Norway - a young backpacker! I just think that it is too expensive to attract people who are fresh out of university, which is a shame really as it's certainly a beautiful country. One positive aspect of this is that the dormitories are empty, and once again I had the room to myself. On the flip side, there's less people to talk to although having said that, I'm still more than happy being in my own company.

I treated myself to a gorgeous 10 pizza at the local Italian restaurant that nearly turned into a 20 one after the waiter shortchanged me (deliberately in my opinion). He should have known that when it comes to Money in Norway, I've learnt to be on my guard...

There was a huge downpour shortly after I arrived back at the hostel, which was fine by me as I was settling down to the football. As it happened, the storm actually cleared the skies, and when I went to bed at 11.30pm, there was bright sunshine coming through my window! As I head north, the nights are going to get shorter and shorter before they become non-existent in Svalbard...
