As Ana and Sebastian knew my love for the world of wine, I was surprised with a visit to Curico Valley, famous for its vineyards. The valley is flanked by the Andes and as in Mendoza, Argentina on the other side, appear the ideal  features of climate and land well suited for vineyards.
The wineries selected were those of San Pedro. It is the largest winery in Chile and internationally renowned, especially in the Carmenère grape variety, currently the most representative grape variety of the nation and discovered a winemaker at this estate, when it was believed extinct by phylloxera. This winery produces wine since 1865 and has the largest world fields continuously planted with vines.
The tour began in the fields showing the types of crops, a small course tasting and wine tasting. Finally the visit to the bottling plant and the oldest cellar. Chile have an excellent wine wines like the best in Europe, too bad you do not have standards, a designation of origin and prohibit  artificially  watering the vines.
In the afternoon we continue our journey towards Los Angeles, the city where they reside.
As we descended the landscape became greener and large tracts of eucalyptus and pine flanked Paramericana Highway. The wood and pulp is the great Chilean business, no one can compete with them, a tree takes 15 years to grow there, here in Europe 30.
Already near Los Angeles, we took a detour to visit the Salto del Laja, two waterfalls that form the river of the same name to divide and bridge a height difference of 53 m in height.
In the afternoon we still had time to visit Los Angeles, mid-sized city, living, with modern shopping malls, but with countless wires and telephone poles and electricity. Telefonica's subsidiary has a lot of blame.
The day we finished with a comfortable bathroom and a sumptuous dinner at the home of our hosts.
