17/8/12

The sun greeted us as we rolled off the ferry in Roscoff, we had tiny voices continually telling us to ride on the right hand side of the road, to my surprise it was quite easy to convert to right hand sided driving. Were both a little confused on how to get to our planned campsite so we decided to head into Roscoff to strip off a few layers and to get our bearings. We had a lovely stroll up a very long jetty which gave a great view of Roscoff and the coast. We then found the tourist information centre which was very helpful in putting us in the right direction, it is amazing how local maps help.
I braved the town and lead the way to Saint Pol de Leon and quite easily found the campsite. Luckily they had room for our little tent and we were able to set up and head to the beach in speedy fashion, the heat was not something we were use to
The camp ground was fantastic, reminded us of a resort rather than a camping ground, great pool and facilities.
The beach was calling for us so we put on our togs and hit the sand. Rhys was in straight away however in usual fashion I took a little longer to brave the surprisingly cold water. Once in we both swam out to a cool pontoon for some jumping, fighting for space with the local children.
Soon it was dinner time so we showered and walked to a little restaurant on the water front and ate mussels, pizza and of course a bottle of french wine, yum!
Nice stroll along the coast after dinner then it was time for bed.

18/8/12

I woke up earlier than Rhys so I left him in his cute sleeping pose and went for a run along the coast. When I got back Rhys was up and disappointed I didn't wake him for the run (so he says), had a shower then headed into town in search of a GPS to help with Rhys' navigation anxiety.
Decided to stop in at Saint Pol de Leon to ask if they had any and with the help of a very kind shop keeper was able to follow directions to a shop, we struck gold! GPS purchased, Rhys instantly feeling lighter and we went in search for food.
Found a nice little sandwich bar in the town square, after lunch we wandered around the town before heading back to camp.
Spent the afternoon filling in time at the pool, watersides, table tennis and the beach.

A fromagerie (cheese stand) came to the camp ground so we decided to try our luck and order some french cheese and sausage (salami) for dinner. Found a nice rock with a view for our dinner and had a pleasant evening. Desert was a crepe on the beach.
So far so good with the french food, look forward to trying more further south.
