Today is a official Mexican holiday. " The Birthday of Benito Juarez" a famous Mexican president and national hero. Although his birthday is March 21, it is celebrated March 15. Today I visited two shopping areas in Monterrey: The Galarias Monterrey and Plaza Mexico. These places are full of shopping stores and offer a great opportunity to pick up a few things. My mode of transportation was taxi which were easy to find and relatively cheap. As a avid golfer, I wanted to get in at least one round before I left Monterrey. However there are not many public courses here and the one course that I checked was not open because of the holiday.
