It was a trip that involved 4 countries (England, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia), 43 weeks (16th February - 24th December), more than 30 cities, over 50000km of travelling and 24 schools visited, ministry to 4194 people, 54 people prayed for and 4 salvations on major outreach alone. The most incredible trip of a lifetime - here are my highlights from the trip, written here for your interest and my records for posterity...enjoy!

Hong Kong:
  • Visiting the Big Buddha on Lantau Island (& climbing the 263 stairs to get to him)
  • Vegetarian set menu lunch at the monestary on Lantau
  • Visiting the Temple of 10,000 Buddha (with the wierd statues and crazy monkeys)
  • Travelling on the Star Ferry
  • Going on the Peak Tram and walking around the Peak (plus seeing where my old house was on the bus ride home)
  • Shopping at Temple Street Night Market
  • A day on vehicle free Lamma Island with the Rules (my relatives) (including 2 amazing seafood meals, a walk across the island and football on the beach)
  • Making homemade spring rolls
  • Sushi party!

New Zealand:
  • Auckland Chinese New Year lantern festival
  • Going up Auckland Skytower
  • Visiting Matamata (Hobbiton)
  • Zorbing!
  • Maori Cultural Experience in Rotorua (with traditional greeting ceremonies, cultural performances including the Hakka and a Hangi meal)
  • Grade 5 white water rafting with a 7m waterfall and swimming over some rapids
  • Mud bath and sulphur spa in Rotorua
  • Black water rafting (or tubing) in glow worm caves plus an underground water slide
  • SKY DIVING!!!! 15000ft jump with 65 second freefall
  • Kayak trip on Lake Taupo to see some huge Maori Carvings
  • Te Papa Museum in Wellington where there is a giant squid
  • Scenic trains from Picton to Christchurch through wine country with vineyards and along the coast and from Christchurch to Greymouth over the mountains and via Arthur's Pass
  • Bikeride to seal colony in Kaikoura
  • Crayfish Lunch in Kaikoura
  • Staying in the Jailhouse hostel (converted prison) in Christchurch
  • Monteith's brewery tour in Greymouth
  • 1/2 day glacier hike on Franz Joseph Glacier
  • Horse riding at Lake Wanaka
  • Milford Sounds boat trip
  • Cocktails from teapots at a bar in Queenstown
  • Elm WIldlife tour near Dunedin (including seeing heaps of 3 month old fur seal pups, walking on the beach with roaring sea lions and watching yellow-eyed penguins (found only in New Zealand) come in from the sea onto the beach and up onto the bank at dusk
  • Moreki Boulders
  • Horse Riding at Lake Tekapo
  • Walking in the botanical gardens and watching punting in Christchurch
  • Watching Indian Music Video filming in the square at Christchurch
Australia - Mission Building:
  • Base Worship sessions (especially helping lead on a couple of occasions)
  • Passover Meal (and I made the Matza bread!)
  • Trip to Saunders Beach for a beach bonfire on my first weekend in Townsville
  • Going to Murray Falls with the boys
  • Celebration Nights (x3)
  • Cabbage fight in the kitchen!
  • Getting given kitchen admin responsibilities
  • Fighting cockroach with Ashlee on the first night in Flat 1
  • Night of prayer warfare in flat 1
  • Going to a school program with M3 hip-hop dance group
  • Staff retreat (3 days camping in the Australian with 140 people)
  • Girls night with Ashlee and Rachel Woje
  • Going to Magnetic Island with Rachel WIlliams including champagne breakfast with the animals, holding a koala, snakes, a bearded dragon and kissing a cockatoo and crocodile as well as walking the length of horseshoe bay and watching the sunset on the beach
  • Hanging out in flat 3 - my surrogate home
Australia - DTS:
  • Girls honouring party thrown by the boys on week 1
  • Evening looking into each other's eyes
  • Billabong wildlife sanctuary including holding a wombat, holding a snake and a crocodile, stroking kangaroos with joeys and seeing a koala with a joey in pouch
  • Receiving a word about Genesis 3:8-9 - God was walking in the garden with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day, that is how He designed us to be, to be walking with Him in the cool of the day
  • Receiving the word 'Are you satisfied?' to share with the group
  • Film night and following dance party with the DTS on the last night with the Ship DTS students
  • Discovering my desire to be a voice for God
  • The challange to replace the word 'Love' with my own name in 1 Corinthians 13 passage - this is what we should be aiming to be like
  • Watching the boys pretend to have guns using sticks in the field at camping with Mike's iphone over the PA providing sound effects
  • Volleyball and football at camping
  • Worship under the stars
  • Sharing night at camping telling stories from home
  • sitting around the campfire at night
  • Sam and his chainsaw demonstration during his testimony - how we need to work at our faith to make it burn bright and not die out
  • playing Rummikub in the shed with Tim and Shelbey on the rainy weekend camping
  • Quiet Times at camping
  • seeing an Emu (when we were camping)
  • Maria's birthday breakfast
  • MA messy games and food-fight
  • Seeing the passion play during MA and the impact that had
  • doing the 'Jesus coming for Dinner' skit
  • Organising and then seeing the fruit of the commitment service as part of MA
  • Team-times on castle hill
  • Seeing MA kids giving testimonies on palm Island
  • Palm Island BBQ and playing with the kids
  • fishing off the jetty on palm island
  • singing at the hospital on palm island
  • leading worship for MA on palm island and at base
  • doing fundraising car washes
  • the shipping containers!!
  • Giving my testimony/teaching to a youth group in Melbourne
  • speaking in schools/churches etc
  • leading discussion groups in scripture classes
  • surfing!
  • going to the most easterly point of Australia
  • Team-time bowling
  • sticking a camera to the ceiling to take photos in Ulladulla
  • playing extreme spoons in Wollongong
  • Performing the lifehouse skit at a youth group in byron bay
  • dance parties as a schoolies volunteer on Magnetic Island
  • Riverway swimming on graduation day
Australia - Travels:
  • Seeing Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge
  • Visiting Hillsong church
  • Gold-panning in Ballarat
  • Family meal in Melbourne
  • Seeing all my Australian Relatives!

As I said - trip of a lifetime!!
