Our first full day in Udaipur we decided to get a Tuk Tuk to show us around for the day which cost 600rs between the 4 of us, we were taken to a museum for great Maharana's (warriors) and then onto numerous religious sites which were really interesting and many good photos were taken.

The lovely Tuk Tuk driver Ballu took us to a proper Indian restaurant where we paid 60rs for an all you can eat lunch called Thali which they give you a plate resembling something you would get in the school canteen and they put different veg dishes along with rice, popadoms, and naan breads and once you finished each part they come around and fill them up again it was beautiful.

Once we were back at the guest house we had a taxi booked to take us to the Monsoon Palace to watch the sun set, the palace is located 1100 metres above the city so you could see for miles around and the colours were beautiful as the sun was setting, a little foggy in parts but this is due to the dusty climate.

On our way back to the guesthouse our taxi driver told us everything is possible in India and was laughing his head off like a naughty school boy telling us he had a wife and a tart on the side, although he was a bit more politically correct and called her his illegal girlfriend but his wife knew about it and she was perfectly fine with him, probably glad to get rid of him for a few days more like!

We also drove past an elephant roaming the streets, yes an elephant! I don’t bat an eyelid now at the sight of fat arsed cows, stray dogs, and goats wondering around but an ELEPHANT bloody hell , I’d like to see one of them taking the A4119 during rush hour.

We didn’t fancy a meal after this so bought some mango’s and other local fruits from the market stall to eat in our room, very healthy I know but I really haven’t missed having meat at most meals!

Bye for now
