We arrived in Qatar at 5 am (ish), got a visitors Visa and found a cab driver that wanted to drive us around for a few hours. We headed out with him and watched the sun rise on the Persian Gulf which was pretty wicked. Then we walked along the water front and looked at the Doha skyline. It was really incredible. He drove us around for a bit but the kid and I were so tired it was tough keeping our eyes open to see the sights. So we asked him to take us to the old town to grab some local breakfast then back to the airport. We checked out a shopping center which was small shops in old sand buildings then went to a restaurant that was actually pretty modern. We ate some breakfast wrap things and then headed back to the cab. On the way back to the airport we stopped at the museum but it was closed so we never got to go inside. When we got to the airport I got a message from a buddy who lives there, which I totally forgot about. He said we could have stayed with him for sure which would have been awesome and I would have loved to spend a few days there. I will book another connection through there if I ever get a chance to see more of the City. All in all a cool experience. Now onto the flight to Athens and so excited for Europe.
