Kris and I took a 4 day weekend to Bristol to see our Friends Claire and Mark, for Claires Birthday. The cheapest option turned out to be the coach, as it was 11 pounds one way for both of us versus 40 pound each one way on the train!!! Biig difference eh. So anyway we got up early after a night at the local with elliot where we got a little bit carried away, and headed to Victoria staion by bus and then onto Bristol on a Megabus coach ''style''. The drive was beautiful as it was a sunny day and all of the fields were full of these tiny yellow flowers which made the fields look like they were glowing gold. Kris was feeling a bit seedy so he wasn't really appreciating it as much as he would have liked. So we rocked up to Bristol on a sunny day and went to Claire and marks new house they have bought,its so cute with a big garden and lots of cute chatty elderly neighbours. We got started cooking up a storm for claires birthday bash, which involved her friends chilling in their backyard having a BBQ and drinking in the sun
. Her Brother Dan turned up from wales too it was cool to see him, even if hes did smell like a horse (he does horse treks in wales and had raced to the party after work), luckly for us all he had a shower and we had a proper catchup. Marks friend 'baldrick'' had the coolest toys, L.E.D fire pois! They were basically white hackey sacks inside mesh bags attached to the poi strings. The hackeys had batteries inside along with L>E>D lights, the beads inside the hackey helped the light to reflect all over the place. So when you swung them the lights flash red green and blue, wow!, everyone had fun playing with these without worrying about burning yourself or smelling like kerosene. I WANT some, apparently you get them in brighton so I will be making a trip ;)
So later on in the evening we all went dancing to this crazy student bar which was actually a boat, they served beer n plastic cups and the music was so loud it was distorting 'ROCK ON'' they played some cool sounds and some dodgy ones but eveyone had a good time dancing.
We spent the next couple of days exploring Bristol, which is quite a cool place. We went to the cathedral, and had a walk around and took a few pics, gotta love the biig old churches here. We will be back!
