Upon my arrival in Prague I met up with my transportation and we were off. The drive to the Hotel Pivovar was straight out of the film Ronin, as the driver set land speed records along narrow cobblestone streets. Pedestrians had no choice but to dive for cover and I decided then that I already liked this place. It was actually a good indication of the pace of my first month here.
TEFL was as intense as that first night. We started teaching during the first week. Imagine a group of 8 to 10 Czech faces staring up at you expectantly. 'Remember Rich, they're more scared of you than you are of them... just don't make any sudden movements.' All joking aside, all of the groups that I taught within that first month were lovely. The students have an enthusiasm for learning that you just don't see back in the States. Graduation snuck up on us four weeks later and I couldn't help but feel thankful for the depth of preparation.
As things stand now, I have my own studio apartment. I've landed a full-time job with one of Prague's premier language schools, IJV. That first month seems so long ago; I'm a bit hard pressed to describe all of the experiences that I've had so far. From realizing that I have to bag my own groceries (spoiled child of privilege that I am) to figuring out the washing machines (never thought I'd have to crack alpha-numeric codes to do the whites) there have been moments when I've felt slightly lost, but then again that's never been a bad thing.

That pic of the canal reminds me of Amsterdam. Everything looks beautiful, I'm totally jealous. Congrats on landing a full time job, and a studio apartment, that has to be fucking awesome.
We could say . . .

Congratulations on getting there, getting hired, and getting used to the place!
