Magic Kingdom is by far the kids favorite park so we typically spend most of our time here. During this trip we spent at least 2 full days here, but usually we would wind our evening here checking out the sites. Our favorite areas is by far Tomorrowland due to the Buzz Light Year and the People Mover.
Our first full day at the park, we managed to take in the Pirates of the Caribbean (which Noel did not want to part take in) and Splash Mountain all before lunch. This was Kody's first time riding Splash Mountain as he had not been tall enough in the past. Alison and Amanda both said he had done really well until the big drop at the end of the ride. My mom and I were only able to catch a quick glance of the drop and everything looked OK, but we were told that Kody said it was fun until the drop and he would wait until he was older to ride it again.
After lunch we promised to take Noel to the Carousel and she not only rode it once, not twice, but three times as this is her favorite ride of all time. While she was riding with the Papaw Davis and Alison, Kody and I headed off with Grandma and Grandpa Gee to ride a Small World. You know the one where the song gets stuck in your head because the play it over and over again. This was the only ride Grandpa Gee got to ride with the kids so he definitely made the most of it with Kody sitting next to him.
Last stop of the day was the Country Bear Jamboree. This was my parents favorite show, but we had never been to it. At least not that we could remember. Noel and Kody just stared in Awwe at the animatronics of bears playing bluegrass music. Noel would occasionally put her fingers in her ear as the volume of the music would sometimes bother her, but while she did this her eyes would never leave the bear that was singing. This was the cutest part of the hole event. Grandma asked if Noel like the show and Noel said I like the bears! Great way to finish the day at the park.
On another night at the park, it was just Kody, Alison, Amanda, and myself. Noel had passed out exhausted from the hard work of enjoying amusement parks. I sometimes can understand her exhaustion, but this night we were going to check out some new rides. We headed straight for the old Toon Town that had recently reopened with the Great Goofini's Barnstormer roller coaster. We had rode this in the past, but Kody wanted to try it again. This time I sat out the ride while he went with the girls. I never saw them go by, but Kody said it was just to fast for him and he didn't want to ride it again.
We finished up in Toon Town and headed over to the Haunted Mansion. I was a little leery about taking Kody on this ride, but I thought if he wanted to try we would give it a shot. We told him it was like Scooby Doo (of course he loves this show) trying to solve a mystery of those ghosts and goblins. He said OK and he was Scooby and I was Shaggy. I couldn't receive a greater compliment. This time he wanted to ride with Amanda, and she said that was fine. As they rode through the ghosts, they were trying to figure out the mysteries and understand where the music was coming from. I on the other hand was on the look out for more hidden Mickey's. I found it (my first one ever)! Check out the main dining table in the parlor. The Mickey is made up of the three dish setting by the head of the table. As we exited the ride Kody looked and said that was not like.Scooby. It was to scary and he really didn't like it.
Since he had been such a trooper, we said you pick the ride and we will go. Of course he said Buzz Lightyear. Off to Buzz we went! This is my favorite ride at Magic Kingdom. Where else do you get to act like a kid and shoot targets and spin a cart round and round. After the ride, Kody had to run to the bathroom, but on his return he found the "Dance Party". I walked over to where he was and saw him jamming to the music, but as soon as I turned the camera on I got the "You better turn that darn thing off" look. As we stayed there checking out the party Stitch, Goofy, and Pluto showed up in their space outfits ready to cut the rug. The three of them ran down into the crowd where the kids could dance, and Kody just kind of stood there checking out the characters. After a few minutes of checking out the situation, he was ready for the next ride and headed for the Astro Orbiter. This is a pretty good ride, but I cannot ride it to much as it spins and spins and I get sick and sicker. Alison took him up for the ride, and as they were up there they were able to get top notch seats for the fireworks. Alison said the noise bothered him some, but the view was well worth itl.
The last day of the week we made sure to check out all our favorite rides again. Of course this included Buzz lightyear, and Alison was stoked because she was able to max the score out of the Buzz ride. I said No way, but when she spun the cart around it read 999,999 and you can't get any higher than that. Now, it always does help when the ride stops, but Alison was able to find a target at the bottom of the area that was worth like 50,000 a shot. Now I know where this is it so I can't tell all my secrets, but we'll see if it works when we go back. After we finished Buzz we hit our normal rides of the People Mover, Astro Orbiter (which I took Kody on so you know I was feeling it after that), the Carousel, and the Tea cups. Everybody but Bill and I made the first ride of the tea cups but when the kids wanted a return trip it was just them and Alison. I don't know how she rides those as I was still hurting from the Astro Orbiter. What a good way to finish our week and head back home!
