The next day we got up early and headed to back to the central train station. We quickly bought our tickets to Ipod (pronounced Ip-oh not I-poh as we did to much confusion) and boarded the spotless train. 3 hours later we reached Ipoh and treked our way to the bus station and picked up tickets to Lumut. In around an hour we boarded the oldest most patched up bus for a two hour journey to the coast. It wasn't as bad as we expected and arrived in the coastal town of Lumut. Here we found the ferry terminal, bought out tickets and jumped on the last ferry of the evening to the island of Pangkor. By the time we reached the island it was dark and we wound our way through the throngs of Arab tourists and jumped into the back of one of the many manly pink taxis. After a frankly terrifying journed up and down hilly roads we reached the small village of Teluk Nipah and booked into the Nipah bay chalets, getting a reduced rate for staying 3 days minimum. We crashed out early after a quick meal at a local restaurant and popping a couple of the super-drowsy antihistimines Roy had picked up.
