What a great spot this KOA had been.  I could stay here again easily.  We do laundry, have a pancake breakfast ($3.00 -- all you can eat -- provided by the KOA) and get on the road.  Our first stop is the Battery Point Lighthouse in Crescent City.  It is on an island that you can walk to at low tide.  The last time we were here it was high tide and we could only take pictures from afar.  Today we could walk out to it and take a tour.  Today it was foggy so picture taking wasn't the greatest.  However, the fog came and went so we worked around it.  We also were not allowed to take pictures inside the lighthouse.  That was too bad, but oh well.

Down the highway to Klammath where we stopped for lunch across the street from the Trees of Mystery and Paul Bunyan.  The motel here is a favorite from years back, but no time this year.

After lunch we stop at the National Park information center and learn there has been a big rig accident on 101 and apparently traffic is a mess.  There are up to 45 minute waits.  :(   We seem to get through with no problem.  We were really lucky in our timing.

Next stop is the Trinidad lighthouse, which is really an inactive replica.  The harbor reminds me of Avalon on Catalina Island.

By 4:00 we arrive at the Eureka KOA and check into a "kabin".  Once we are settled we head out to look for groceries.  We find an "old town" with lots of Victorian houses and a nice harbor and waterfront.  We stop for some ice cream and take pictures as the fog comes in.  Next stop a co-op for groceries, then back to the KOA for dinner outside next to our kabin.

We now have to start thinking of how long it will take to get home (a sad thought).  We are 840 miles from home.  We figure about 4 days.
