After saying our fond farewells to Melbourne we hightailed it along the coast to Bairnesdale where Vinnie and Hils friend Penny lives. There we spent a great 3 days being entertained by Penny and her family. They were so hospitable and it was great to sleep in a "proper" bed for another 3 nights! Like Hils family, they are farmers, although they are dairy farmers whereas Hils family farm cotton.
Peter Alan, a cousin of Penny's dad, was in the area visiting cattle auctions. Peter breeds Hereford cattle, following in the footsteps of his father who was considerd to be one of the worlds foremost experts on the breed. They are a family that are easy to like and I found myself quite sad to be and leaving them. But leave them we had to because we have to be in Sydney on 4th April.
Last night we stayed in a lovely spot on the coast at Mallacoota where Vinnie bought himself a fishing rod, since when he has contentedly been fooling himself that he is going to catch our supper. No chance.
Tomorrow we move further up the coast to Bateman's Bay for 2 nights and then Gerroa for 2 nights, arriving in Sydney on Wednesday where we turn in our little campervan. BooHoo! Part of me will be totally relieved (at last I will be able to get my feet clean and sleep in a proper bed again), but the other part will be sad because life on the road is very different to anything I have ever done before and I quite like it.
And tomorrow is the midway point of my trip. 60 days since I left home and 60 days until I get back again. I miss everyone so much, especially the children, but I am seeing and doing amazing things so I don't regret a minute of this journey.

Do you remember Ann I lived for about 2 years in a camper van in the brewery in Reading many years ago, happy days although I was glad to visit you and Davey in Gray-shot
I was going to ask how you felt about your holiday so far, but the final paragraph gives the answer. Keep going, girl!
As if I would ever forget Dave! A VW I seem to remember?
You know me DogLover. One thing that I''m good at is "keeping on going"!
