We left Auburn and started heading through the Clare Valley wine region. We stopped at Clare which a reasonably large town with some gorgeous stone buildings. We decided it would be nice to ride through the Clare Valley to some of the wineries. So we parked our car/van in town and started walking towards where we had seen a sign for bicycle hire. A long walk later we arrived at a shed. A call later and we had hired our bikes and were on our way. We stopped at Seven Hills winery and took a tour of the cellars and tested their wines. There were some very nice wines and we took a couple of bottles with us in our backpack. By the time we got back outside, the weather had turned and it was freezing. We decided to ride down to Seven Hills pub for lunch and were greeted with good food and a healthy fire. We didn't want to be in the cold any longer than we had to be so we decided to skip the rest of the wineries and head back to Clare. After returning our bikes, we continued on, past Mt Remarkable and drove about 7km off road to the top of Hannocks Lookout to camp. It was just on dark when we arrived so we woke in the morning to an amazing view of the surrounding areas.
