Well, to start this off, I really don't know how this all works... I took a Travel Writing class with a professor by the name of Ron Scott. This is probably the most fun and most work that I have had to do since I started my 5 year career at Walsh University... I am going to graduate in about 12 days and then, as I am doing my 'Ideal Trip' for travel writing class, I figured that I should do something that I know I would actually do... Do you get it? I will be going to Peru for my graduation present from myself to myself. I have a friend's family that lives in Peru (because he is from there), his name is Wilter. I have currently been to Peru myself in December 2008, for about one whole month (Dec. 5- Jan 2).

The history between Wilter and me is one of fascination and immediate friendship. We got to talking and then hanging out, and as I saw more and more of him… I began to like him a little more. No I am not gay, so it was never a sexual thing between us, just one of reality and confusion. I could never get why or how he came to the United States without his family. Or even leave his family in Peru while he was here in the States.

Soon enough, like I said, we became good friends. And as I saw his hope to go home and see his family and the only way that he could afford it was through a mission-trip that went south, I offered to take him. That was going to cost me, but only financially, nothing more. If anything it was well worth it, because upon our return I have met two other students at Walsh University by the names of Skylar (American) and Eric (Bolivian). To this day we four are still friends and it probably will not change in the near future.

Upon our return from Peru, Wilter’s family loved me so much that they called me and wondered when I would return. Like many people that say they would return and promise them things, not everyone actually did it, but me on the other hand, if I tell you that I am going to do something then I will do it. I told his family that I would return around May 2010 and in about 3 weeks, that is what I am doing.

I will pick up with this later, or maybe even while I am in Peru....

Until the next time...
~Will
