Rain Forest and Submarine

In the morning we went to the botanic garden in Rio. The weather was not the best, but it was not raining so never mind.
At first of course we wanted to buy a small guide for the garden, but the small shop was closed, because they took inventory and they didn`t want to sell us the map. :(

So we had to find our own way through it and it is big. The nature is really pritty. It is a atlantic rainforest and so it is wild, colored, just tropical!



We saw wild Tucans and butterflies and even monkeys.



After that we decided to do something the boys would like ;) , and by the way the botanic garden was something I wanted to do ;)

So we went to the center and to the military harbour. There is a submarine boat which you can visit for free. And I have to admit that I liked the idea to go inside. I have never been in one and I wanted to know who you feel in such a small can.





The center is not really great. You just have some spots which are nice, like a big, old church or a theater, but nothing really special.



Lapa

In the night we went out with Gloria and her husband to Lapa, a city part of Rio. When you drive up the hill there you will have a great view over the city (and that for free ;) )
There is also a small old open tram, with which you could make a traditional city tour.
In Lapa are a lot of nice bars where you can drink something and dance Samba. Really good place for going out!
