steep trail lead me up through autumn trees and onto a high bluff, where i looked out over the interlaken valley and admired the high alps across the way, huge crags of snow and ice and rock standing solid in stillness, high clouds floating by to cover just the peaks of each mountain.
i was out for seven or eight hours walking, up and across a high ridgeline, peaking at a high rocky outcropping that required steep scrambling up a grassy slope. up there i followed large hoof prints that might have been deer or...i'm not sure what other animal, and found an old firepit left over from the summer, possibly.
this was a peaceful day. my feet on the ground, all stillness and nature around me. i took a lunch break off trail on a secluded outcropping, and fell asleep on a soft bed of grass overlooking cow pastures and small huts dotting a grassy valley.
the pictures i took today i think capture much of what i was feeling...it is my next task to upload them for all to see.
