We drove from Seaside down to Newport, Oregon.  Most of the day we dodged rain showers.

Our first stop was Ecola State Park.  The fee to get into the park was $3.00.  The views are spectacular.  There are several rock formations in the water near the shore.  There were several trees on the beach that were picked up by the incoming tide and taken out into the water and then pushed back into the beach,

The next stop was at Cannon Beach which is the home of the Haystack Rock.  The sun shone a little bit and we did see a rainbow while on the beach.

Our next stop was at the Tillamook Cheese Factory.  You are able to go up on the viewing level above were the employees are  working.  You get to see the cheese assembly line where the cheese is cut and packaged.  We did get to taste the different kinds of cheese and yes, we did buy some cheese along with a package of cracker and a knife to cut the cheese with.  I had to give the knife to my daughter for her checked luggage as we were traveling with carry-ons  My daughter and I both had some Tillamook ice cream which was delicious.

We made several stops along the way to take photos and checked into the Comfort Inn in Newport.
