Where I stayed
Lisa's friend Rachel's
We drove all night out of NYC through Pennsylvania- saw some Amish folks and made our way through Ohio. There were alot of old barns and shacks, and entertained ourselves for two hours at the local Wal-Mart while the car got a much needed oil change, and went to the 'exotic' Mexican restaurant in the strip mall.
Kentucky was the best, as Rachel put us up and showed us a great time. We went to a local bar 'Cahoots' and had some cheap drinks, and had breakfast at 'Barbara Lee's' diner, where the cook- the waitress's daughter had to make sure Ray knew that 'rare' meant 'bloody' in her thick southern drawl. We checked out Kentucky's Bourbon Trail, and had some whiskey tastings and checked out the Louisville Sluggers baseball museum and bat factory and took home some miny bat suvenirs. I got a sweet necklace for $1.50 and a purse for $3.00 at a thrift store there. Would definitely reccomend checking out the town.
