We got picked up at 7.00 am by Demus (our guide), Willy (the kayaker) and Carlos (the driver).  We had a two and a half hour drive to the starting point of our white water rafting adventure on the Palon section of the Rio Chiriqui Viejo.  On route we stopped off at the supermarket so that Emily can choose the veggie filling for her sarnies, we could get used to this treatment.

We arrived at the river at about 9.30 and the guys set to inflating the rafts and getting us ready, Emily is very nervous and Rene just really looking forward to it!!

The rafting was great, some of it pretty crazy and most of the time it was rapids after rapids and no rest, we did class II, III and IV rapids and loved it.  The scenery was lovely surrounded by forest and we saw some Squirrel monkeys and a Boa in a tree.  Emily fell out of the boat when it got wedged on a rock and was tipped to the side, she tried to cling on for ages but all in vain, was quickly rescued by Demus and Rene who pulled her back into the boat, she chose and good spot for her dip and didnīt get pulled into any rapids.  At one point for a short period the river was quiet so we got the chance to have a swim in the river and relax.  Half way through we stopped by the side of the river for lunch, one of the rafts (there were two others with us) was turned upside down and the guys prepared lunch, yummy !!

Highly recommend Boquete Outdoor Adventures, we were really well looked after and also felt safer knowing that we had someone kayaking with us who could help if anyone fell out of the raft.
