Yes, all the rumors you might have heard on the radio, seen on TV, read in the newspaper are true.... the Campervan has been sold. Last Friday was my last day on the farm in Dalby and on Sunday I left for Brisbane. The Van had to be pulled out of the yard where it had been parked for the last 2 months with a tractor (it was very wet), but is still in tiptop shape, especially after a good cleaning spell. I was sad to leave Dalby and especially the amazing family I've been staying with and who took such good care of me, but there are other adventures waiting...

The last month in Dalby was good: working, going to an agricultural show, attending some local social gatherings, feeling at home with the unusual spell of European weather (lots of rain) and plotting out my next moves. I also got taken along for a visit to the local cotton gin, where the cotton that gets harvested gets processed (cleaned and the cotton seed taken out) before it gets pressed into a bale and readied for shipping to China. A very interesting factory visit! Amazing fact: Australia produces 5 million bales of Cotton per year, everything harvested and ginned mechanically... China produces 34 million bales, 90% harvested AND ginned manually...! Good thing they have a billion people knocking around to help out with this, seems to be a fair bit of work....

I also made the newspaper again, this time as a refugee (or so it seems in the article), click on the following LINK to see the article.

I'd put my van on an advertisement website a week before leaving Dalby and an Italian fella who agreed to meet me Sunday was happy to swap my van for a fistful of dollars, so I'm back to just having a backpack again... Fun fact: I ended up throwing in all my old work clothing AND my work boots (same shoe size) to seal the deal... not bad me thinks! :) I'm not real sure what the plans from here on will look like, but rest assured: you will be the first to read them here (probably after they have been executed though..).
