It's been a while since the last update for you, my dear travelpod readers, but not much exciting has been going on here. I've been working pretty well flat out since I arrived in Dalby in April, and enjoy every minute of it! After we wrapped up the cotton harvest, we cultivated the land and recently have started planting the winter crop; mainly wheat and chickpeas. In between this and around the various amounts of rain we've copped, I've been doing some mechanical work in the shed and all other varieties of tasks that are common on farms.

My ankle is doing better every day and it seems that just using it is the best therapy available... Next to working I've also been to Brisbane a few times with the family that I'm staying with and working for. We've gone to see some NRL (National Rugby League) games in the suncorp stadium; Bronco's vs. Manly and Titans vs. bulldogs. They are quite efficient with sports here, they just play two consecutive games in the same stadium with only a 10 minute break between them... nice for the spectators! And teams don't seem to have any obligation to have an own stadium or play a home game in their own city. The game itself is well rough and very entertaining, so it was quite the good night! At the moment the state of origin series are on as well, 3 games between New South Wales and Queensland players. If you ever want to see a rough-n-dedicated game, see some of these games. Players and supporters the like seem to think that their life depends on it and the atmosphere is great!

Then we went east another weekend to just relax and see some sunshine; although it's winter here and even Dalby still has nice weather, in Brisbane and on the coast it's just magnificent... I even got to see good old Surfers Paradise again, still beautiful like it was last year with white beaches and an abundance of sun..!! .Anyway, I don't think I've got anymore news to share... I'll keep working the land and enjoy the winter with +/- 20 degrees and sunshine almost every day, I'm sure that those of you in Europe will be enjoying the summer as well... :) Hasta Luego!
