It was an early start today as we are going on an African Safari in Oz. This is a behind the scenes tour where we got to feed the gorgious Black Rhinoceros. We all got to have a turn one at a time with some branches with leaves. As rough as they seem they took the food from us very gently. We went in our little bus to the African Plains where giraffes, zebra & hippos roam free. Then we saw some white rhinoceros being fed. These were alot more fierce & some had a bit of a horn bout. It was very amusing to watch. After our tour we went back in our cars & drove around the zoo, stopping to take pictures of many of the animals. We then headed for the caravan park had some lunch then headed back to the zoo this time on our bikes. Boy was this tiring from the caravan park its a very slight uphill ride back to the zoo & being the unfit person I am boy did my butt feel it. But at the zoo we had many rest stops going from one animal to the next. This zoo is huge it took us a couple of hours to ride our bikes around checking them all out. The zoo is so fantastically set up all the fences are hidden behind a hill & you feel like you are on the African Plains with the animals. Such a beautiful zoo. Unfortunately riding our bikes home we got more exercise than we anticipated. It was magpie breeding season & a very angry magpie swopped down on us several times resulting in a lovely dint in my helment. We rode faster than we ever rode before luckily it was down hill this time. My heart felt like it was going to burst thru my chest. They are very nasty buggers when they have young.
