Today will be a very short & sweet blog as its 40.5 degrees in the caravan at the moment. Would be good to have some air conditioning.
This morning we all got out of bed at 5am ready to leave at 5.30am for a sunrise photo of Uluru we went to the same spot as we did for the sunset photos. There was a lot of cloud about this morning making the photos more dramatic but not much colour in the sky.
After the sun was up we headed around the corner. Jay would of really liked to climb Uluru I'm definitely not, way to high & steep at around 70o straight up. But as usual it was closed. But there was a really strong wind blowing so I could imagine how strong it would be up top
It was then decided to do the 10km walk around before the day heated up. It was now 8am. There are many interesting rock formations around Uluru. The ground was very dry. So the only place which holds water didn't have a drop of water in sight.
We looked at some Aboriginal art work. And continued the walk around. A lot of the walk around Uluru you aren't allowed to take any photos due to cultural sensitive areas. These were usually the most beautiful areas.
The walk was easy & flat but flies were out around one side the wind had dropped. It was hot even at 8.30am. We trudged on. It was a beautiful walk. Uluru is spectacular & high no matter which way you looked. But it was hot very hot.
Around another corner & a lot of boulders were around. We arrived at a nice cool spot with some shady trees. We drank lots of water, continued walking & being awe inspired. Gazing up at the beauty of Uluru.
I film crew were sitting in the shade ready to make a film or advertisement for National Parks.
Finally we reached our car at 10am. It was already 34 degrees.
We have spent the day in & out of the pool & cold showers. The pool is another long hot walk away, so the showers across the road are a cooler option.
