Our Road Trip down the South Coast got off to a slow start. Packing seemed to take forever. Trying to squeeze everything into a small car is a task and a half, so a few items had to be sacrificed and left at home.

Finally leaving at midday getting ice and McDonald's before we even had time to get into the driving spirit and it was onwards bound we go. On the way to Shoalhaven Heads we stopped off at Kiama Blowholes to give Annabel a rest from driving for 15min. I don't think the blowhole blows as hard as it once did. Stopping next at the Gerroa Look out seeing all the way across 7 mile beach with a birds eye view  was another quick stop off for photos. I love it when this spectacular sight comes into view, it’s when you know you are on holidays and the stress seems to be left at this spot.

Arriving at mum & dads at 3.30pm letting ourselves in, it wasn’t long before we made some Pink Lemonades and sat on the veranda taking in the view. I don’t recommend this free accommodation, had to make our own dinner as the hosts were out partying all day, eating. So eggs on toast it was. We fed the Corella's and King Parrots on the veranda watching them make a huge mess of seeds.

The rest of the evening was spent relaxing and chatting.

5.30am and once again the King Parrots were on the Veranda eating, I should of probably got out of bed at this time but stayed in the comfortable bed for another couple of hours. Ate breakfast on the veranda watching the Pelican’s gracefully gliding along on the still mirror like river front, when a flock of spectacular looking Black Cockatoos came to visit eating the Banksia flowers. You could hear them talking to another flock of Cockatoos across the other side of the river. They hung around for quite a while.

After the teen finally got out of bed and got herself ready we bid farewell at 10am and headed straight towards Huskisson. We scored a perfect camp spot overlooking the Bay with plenty of trees shading us. Camp was quickly set up. Lunch consisted of cheese, cabanossi and rice crackers with a wine glass filled with Pepsi max.

A lovely stroll along the beach to stretch our legs was just what we needed. The beach area is absolutely gorgeous. The whitest of white sand squeaks beneath your feet. The water is  aqua blue. And there are a number of rock pools around the area you can explore.

The area has a great footpath along the beach foreshore, and leading to the shopping centre which has everything a camper may need. Walking the length of the shopping centre and back caused us to need break and a milkshake was just what we needed so a stop off at the ice creamery was much appreciated. The milkshake was amazingly great. We called into the bakery which had so many fantastic looking treats but we only purchased some bread rolls to have for tea with our sausages.

The afternoon was spent lazing around at camp relaxing taking in the peaceful serenity the Salty ocean breeze making us very sleepy and ever so stress free.
