Had a really bad breakfast at the hotel, then got a tram up to the castle for a tour.

Because it was a Sunday the entry was free but most of it was closed.  It was OK but didn't take long to see.  We also saw a Davinci painting "Girl with Ermine", which was quite special, but Shareen was underwhelmed.

From the castle we walked to the old town square to join the "free" walking tour.  This is a great concept they have in many cities, where you go on a tour and the cost is the tip you leave the guide.  The tour was great and the guide was really interesting - all about the famous locations and Polish history.

We had to leave the tour a bit before the end, to catch the bus to Katowice and then a couple of trains to Kutna Hora.  Arrived in the dark at the very flash Hotel Medinek.  It seemed we were the only people in the town it was dead quiet.

Walked round the old town (never saw anyone else) and had a drink at an amazing (empty) pub in a basement, set up like a dungeon.  It was a fantastic setup with medieval things decorating the place.
