The head cold that Tom has been fighting for the past few days blossomed in the last 18 hours, so he's rugged up and staying in bed in our heated cottage.

We shall have soup, cheese and bread for lunch and tacos for dinner (I know, sticking with the Mexican theme - might help clear his head). In the meantime there are books (Alice Sebold, Donna Leon,Terry Pratchett, Kathy Reichs, Lonely Planet travel and heaps more - they're all over the house: in the toilets, by the staircase, in the bedrooms and the sitting room). And I brought my own Agatha Christies (of course), and I have my sudokus and my iPad, and if Tom feels up to it we can break out the board games stacked in the sitting room. He has audio books on his iPod (thanks Chari-Rose ❤) and a book from the cottage he started reading. The French radio station we found is very pleasant background music.

Good day to stay in - its been raining, and is cold and windy. On the whole, the weather has worked in well with our trip - I think the only problem time with it was at Zermatt.

Sounds like Tom has a great nurse, hope he makes a speedy recovery. Just make sure you don't succumb to the cold Colleen.

Thanks Liz. I keep rugged up in times like this - at last I'm using the winter gear I packed. Tom has time to recover.
