Today was a nice leisurely day - we walked over to Central Station where Tom posted our postcards and withdrew more cash.  After that we walked down to the Glyptotek (art gallery) and waited 10 minutes until it opened.  I only viewed the French artworks - all my favourites: Monet, Degas, Manet, Renoir, van Gogh, Pissaro, Cezanne, Morisot etc.  It was lovely.  I then had an iced coffee in the picturesque cafe (surrounded by lush indoor tropical gardens and ponds) whilst Tom checked out the rest.

From there it was a short walk to Christiansborg Palace where Tom went through the extensive military museum.  The building it is housed in is over 400 years old.

From there it was just across the road to the Netto boats for our canal cruise.  It was quite an extensive cruise - 1 hour and it took us past Amalienborg Palaces, Opera House, Royal Yacht, The Little Mermaid, New Harbour, the old fish markets, the canals built to resemble Amsterdam, The Royal Library, houseboats, Christiansborg Palace, Stock Exchange, various churches, the new theatre (still under construction) etc.

After that we ambled back toward the old fish markets where we bought a type of hot dog (with sausage, not frankfurt) and a large Carlsberg beer, and sat in the street watching the world go by while we ate our leisurely lunch.  Then we walked slowly back to our hotel for a rest, having dinner at a nearby steakhouse later in the evening.

We keep seeing groups of school children everywhere - they don't have uniforms.  The man at the museum said it is their last week of school, so there are lots of excursions.
