What I did
Jason's Canal Boat Trip
Bel Canto Restaurant

This morning we had a leisurely breakfast, then caught the train 1 station to Warwick Avenue (which we'd discovered just the other night), where we walked down to Little Venice.  In this large pond area we found the canal longboat for "Jason's Trip" down to the Camden Locks. We didn't realise the canal were still such a going concern in London - many of the boats were residential, as well as holiday ones.

We then walked through Camden Markets to Chalk Farm station, where we caught a train to Kings Cross St Pancras, then walked to the London Canal Museum.  We really enjoyed it. After exploring the canal museum thoroughly, Tom went on the the Churchill War Rooms (which he later enthused over) and I went back to the apartment to do our washing.

For dinner we experienced something we had first seen on TV - dinner at Bel Canto, a restaurant that was only five minutes stroll to away to Lancaster Gate in the Corus Hotel Hyde Park.  We had the most heavenly food (crab and lobster, followed by scallops and king prawns and sorbet for dessert for me - Tom had potato and leek soup followed by beef and then a lovely chocolate dessert). All of this was accompaned by wonder operatic arias performed by trained opera singers who doubled as waiters.  We had a bottle of French rose, but when they were to perform the drinking song from "La Traviata" everyone was given a glass of Italian Prosecco to toast with!!  The evening finished at 11pm - four hours of great entertainment and great food!!!
