Where I stayed
In transit
What I did
Heathrow airport
Well, we had a wonderful time on the ship - even booked another cruise whilst on board but have had second thoughts on that. Cunard just hasn't been the same since Carnival bought them. We yearn for the atmosphere on the QE2 the first time - back in 1995.
Today we taxied to Southampton Central railway after self-disembarkation. From there we caught the train to Waterloo where we left our luggage at the Left Luggage Office, before catching the train to Charing Cross. From there we walked to the National Gallery, taking time to view Trafalgar Square.
In the National Gallery we viewed many famous masterpieces, listened to a children's lesson on Georges Seurat's "Bathers at Asnieres", and saw Constable's masterpieces (The Haywain particularly) in their home.
We had a leisurely lunch at the art gallery's cafe before retrieving our luggage and journeying to Heathrow for a long wait for our 10pm flight to Kuala Lumpur.
