Madagascar was truly amazing! I did the lemur tour because as far as I know thats what you see in Madagascar. Took a 35 minute speed boat ride over and back to one of the different Islands (Nosy Kumba Isle of the Lemurs). It was interesting seeing the way some of the people truly live (it was a bit off the beaten path). They live in huts made from sticks and banana leaves and live off of fish and fruits that are generally native to the area. I saw the lemurs!! They are just cool looking rat-monkeys (my own term) funny eyes and furry heads. After that I went back to Nosy Be and got a taxi with two of my new friends (Betty and Mary). We went to town and to a beach. The water was warm and incredibly clear. I bought 3 African hand carved masks for $20. I wanted more so the people were extremely happy to trade two masks for a towel (thanks Princess Cruises!!) and a pair of boxers. They don't generally get finished goods like that. Anyway I had a great day. Madagascar is one of those places I probably wouldn't visit otherwise so it was an awesome experience.

Shame on you. Firstly, for buying wooden items in a place which is 85% deforested and secondly, for 'trading' your used towel and underwear for these items.
