I seriously need one day where I can stay in bed for a reasonable amount of time.  I had to be up at 4 am this morning to catch a bus to Nazca.  The bus was leaving at 5.30 am.  11 hours ahead of me!!

We decided that we didn't want to take another night bus and also, this journey was going to take us along the coast so should be a nice view at least.

The journey itself was ok, but we were sat on the top deck, right at the front and when the sun came up, it felt like we were in a microwave.  We also didn't have much leg room so the ride was pretty uncomfortable.  The scenery itself was quite nice.  It seemed as though it was Peru's answer to the Great Ocean Road, only much more dangerous.  The road was basically cut into the side of the rocky cliffs and sand dunes.  At any moment, the sand or rock faces could collapse.  Good job we got through ok.

The one good thing about the journey is that I did manage to doze off a few times so got a little sleep, even if it was for about 20 minutes at a time.

We arrived in Nasca at around 4 pm.  How can I describe Nasca.  It is a small town in the middle of no where.  You could say it was in the desert, but all around was grey land and not sand.  It was pretty damn hot too.

We checked into our hostel and had a quick walk around town.  There really isn't anything to do here, apart from taking the excursion to see the Nasca Lines, which I am doing tomorrow.

Not much else to report from today.  The entry tomorrow should be a much better one!
