Where I stayed

I think that I am jinxed when it comes to Chile.  Maybe it is telling me that it either doesn't like me or I do not like Chile.

I got up this morning at 5 am as I had to catch a flight from Rio at 8.30 am.  I was flying via Montevideo in Uruguay so it was going to be a log day, but not as long as I had anticipated.  The flight to Montevideo took around 3 1/2 hours and we had turbulence most of the way.  I then had a 4 hour wait in Montevideo airport until my connecting flight to Santiago which took a further 2 1/2 hours.  During this time I didn't have any cash on me so couldn't buy any food (we didn't get anything on the flight) and hardly had any water.

By the time I arrived in Santiago airport I had such a bad headache.  I was then panicking as I needed to get to my hostel by 8.30 pm as I had to pay the company that were taking me on my tour tomorrow.  I was waiting for the shuttle bus to make a move, however, when you are in a rush, everyone seems to take their time as if nothing really matters.

We eventually got moving and then got stuck in rush hour traffic.  Why is everything against me at the moment.  I was clock watching and quickly running out of time.  I think by the time I got to my hostel I had a few minutes to spare.

I quickly checked in and then went straight to the Pachamama tour desk (which luckily enough is based in the hostel) to pay for my ticket.  You know how I just said that things are against me at the moment, well, I went into the office only to be told, did you not check your emails today.  Doh, I have been up and travelling since 5.30 am this morning so no, I haven't checked my emails.  The tour has only been cancelled.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...........................................

The driver has been taken ill and the back up driver is in Argentina and cannot get back until Monday.  So that is my next 7 days messed up.

I was too tired, sick and stressed to make a decision, so all I did was go straight upstairs, have a shower and go to bed.  I didn't even bother eating anything as I was so tired.  I will try and make some rational decisions tomorrow with a clear head.
