I had a good night sleep after my hectic day sat on my bum yesterday.
The sun was shining and I was gobsmacked when I looked out over the balcony from my hostel. The view over Lake Nahuel Huapi. This is yet another beautiful place. Patagonia is truely amazing.
Today was just a day of wandering around the town and trying to sort out if I am going to Puerto Madryn to see the Orca's (if they are still there!).
I left the hostel around 10.30 am and headed off into to. This place is full of chocolate shops and jam shops, along with the normal touristy tat shops. Again, it has a very European, Alpine Ski feel to it and it is awesome.
The first stop I made was into the chocolate shop called Rapa Nui (Easter Island), which Becky had recommended as she has already been here. She told me to go in and ask for the Framboise Chocolate which isn't on show, it's hidden behind the counter (maybe only for locals as it is so good). It cost me 18.50 pesos which is pretty good. They are Raspberries covered in chocolate and wrapped in a cone. Hmmm, can't wait to try them later.
Next stop, bus station to find out if I can get a bus to Puerto Mardyn which is on the East Coast and about a 15 hour bus journey. Managed to sort that out and it cost me around 50 pounds for a Cama seat. Basically it's a seat which flattens out to nearly 180 degrees. Happy days, It's an overnight bus so it saves me one nights stay at a hostel and you get given food.
I also wanted to buy a pair of jeans to replace the only pair that I have which are now ripped and looking pretty rough. The fashion over here is skin tight jeans, or extra long legs, so I gave that one a miss.
The rest of the days was either spent at the hostel catching up with my blogs (sorry for being bombarded with the emails) or going out walking around the lake.
Tonight, a few people checked in who were at my hostel in Ushuaia so it was nice to see some friendly faces. I have been sat here chatting to the girls in my room having a good ole giggle and I just shared my chocolates with them. Oh my god, I have never tasted chocolate like it. They are truely orgasmic. They aren't gonna last very long. Might have to buy some more tomorrow!!
Beth, if you are reading this, I wish I could bring some home for you as I know you would love them. See if you can buy them over the internet. The cost of shipping them back to England would be well worth it!!!
