Another hangover day. Don't know how much of this I can handle!!!
We headed for Raglan today which is a surfing town. Apparently, Raglan has been crowned with the most beautiful people living here. Better keep my eyes open then!!!
Our hostel today was set up on the hill in the forest, a bit like an urban retreat. It was stunning and had a great view of the ocean. Some of the guys had booked surf lessons, but I knew that wasn't for me, so a lazy day of recovering and walking would be the plan. I wandered around the hostel site and walked up to Inspiration Point to see if I could get any inspiration. The view was stunning so I sat there for around half an hour just staring out at the ocean and the beautiful scenery. The only inspiration I got was to go and have a lie down to catch up on a little sleep and make myself feel better.
This evening, some of us had booked on a booze cruise. Oh yes, yet another drinking session! We got picked up from the hostel at around 6 pm and headed down to the marina where we got on the boat. It was very civilized so no hard partying. It was an awesome cruise where we saw the sunset over the bay. Couldn't have asked for anything better to just relax and enjoy the moment. When the cruise was over (around 8.30 pm), our captain drove us into town for a quick beer in the pub before heading back to the hostel.
It ended up being another late evening as we had all bought beers earlier on so we went up to the barn and had our own little party. There was a set of drums up there, so guess who jumped on them!!! Drums and beer do not go together!! Also, drinking and trying to play table tennis is not a good idea either, but I thought I would give it a go!
I am loving New Zealand and loving the people that I am meeting. It's a shame that I don't have more time here as we have a few people leaving us tomorrow, The Swiss cheeses, and one of the Canadian boys, and it would be great to stay in some of these places for a little longer than a day that I have. Ah well, can't have it all eh!
