What presentations do is prepare all the animals ready for the shows that they put on. Mainly they have the reptile show and the free flight bird show. We were behind the scenes helping to get the animals ready and treats ready for when they had finished.
Got to see brush tail possums (they are blonde), a goanna called Sampson, a darwin python, dingo's and a diamond python.
After the reptile show, I got to look after the diamond python. The snakes have to spend at least 20 mins a day in the sun to get their vitamin D which helps them produce calcium, which is vital for them to digest their food
The highlight of the day was to walk the dingos around the park. They are not pure dingos and have been reared by humans so they are not dangerous. I looked after Raif who was second in command. We all had to walk in the relevant order otherwise the dogs can start fighting. Typical males!
The day was so easy and we spent the afternoon watching the free flight bird show and then taking part in the green challenge. This was like an assault course but up in the trees. You had to climb across rope bridges and walk on ropes whilst being harnessed to another rope. It was real good fun but quite exhausting! We only did the green course as it had been raining and was so windy. The other courses were red and black which were a lot harder.
Spent the evening watching an Aborginal dance performance and also being fed authentic aboriginal food. It was a show that is being introduced to the park every evening and we got to watch them practicing before it all goes live on Saturday.
This is the place that I would love to work in. I need a visa!!!
