This was the day I wasn't looking forward to.  The end of the sailing trip.

We went over to Hook Island for a quick bush walk as there are original Aboriginal drawings in one of the caves.  It was nice to go and stretch your legs first thing in the morning.

We set off for home around 9 am.  We hadn't been able to do any racing on the boat for a day as there wasn't any wind, so had to use the engines.  I was hoping the engines might blow so we couldn't get back.

This has been the best part of my trip by a mile and I feel like crying that it is coming to an end.  We said that we were going to tie the crew up and take over the boat.  I now know how to steer the boat as I sailed it for about 1 hr yesterday!

We finally got back to Airlie beach just after 11 am. We all said our goodbyes, however, we were going to be meeting up later for the after party at Beaches Bar.  I have to be sensible as I have to catch the Greyhound bus at 11.45 pm to get to 1770 which is my next destination.  Not looking forward to the 10 hr bus journey!

Leah and Jenny were staying at the hostel I was in and let me go back with them to shower and get changed.  It was so nice to have a proper shower as on the boat, water is limited so you literally have only 30 seconds to shower, so no washing hair or anything like that.  My hair looked god damn awful by the end of it!

We spent most of the day sorting our stuff out and finally got ready to go out at 6.30 pm.  So much for me being sensible.  I ended up drinking three jugs of beer to myself and partying hard.  We had such a good laugh I didn't want to leave.  Nelson, Matt and Adam came out from the crew.  Dan couldn't make it as he had to go back out on the boat that afternoon.

Jenny walked me back to the hostel to pick up my bags.  I really don't know how I managed to walk to the bus stop which was about a 10 min walk as I was pretty drunk I couldn't stand up very well!  Still, I made it and they let me on the bus as I put on my sober face when I climbed on board!  10 hrs of hell in front of me. Ah well, I hope I sleep!

I have met some great people in the past couple of days and Jenny and Leah are definately friends for life.  Love you girlies!
