So I left Maggie Island behind today.   It was sad to leave as I absolutely loved it there!

I caught the ferry back to Townsville around 12.15 pm as I had to catch the Greyhound at 2.15 pm.
The next stop is Airlie Beach which is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands.   So excited about this!
The Greyhound took around 5 hrs to get there and it did go quite quickly.   It helped that I feel asleep as I got up earlier this morning so I could go and find the rock wallabies at Geoffreys Bay at dawn and feed them.   Me and nature eh!   They are so cute.   They are about the size of a extra large rat, but a lot cuter and a lot more friendly.

Anyway, back to Airlie Beach.   I got here just after 7 pm and had a small welcome party which was lovely.   My two Irish friends, Mary and Karen were waiting for me at the bus stop and helped me carry my bags back to the hostel.   Even better, Martina was staying in the same room as me so I had three friends to greet me.   What a welcome eh!

We popped to the local bar for some food as I had nothing on me to cook and the shops were shut. We ended up taking part in the free quiz and came 3 which was a laugh!!!   There were around 10 teams and the main topic was Australian geography.   We actually did quite well considering!

Sat in bed now typing this before going off to the land of nod.  One day to organise myself before boarding my racing boat.   Happy days!

Hi keels,

I can't believe you've been away now for nearly 8 weeks. I am so impressed with all the walking and giving up smoking you healhly chick you.

I am well jeal of hearing of all the beautiful areas you are visiting and loving the fact you have some really nice friends that you keep bumping into. I take it Anni is actuallty heading back home from your comment in one of the latest blogs, that is sad.

I can't read them very well on the BB so save them up for when i am back in the office and have a few moments to catch up with you.

Nothing exciting to report my end, the clocks have gone back so it is dark in the evenings again which is horrid, the weather here today is ok considering we are now in November, but it is only getting worse now until next year where as i guess your heading nicely into the summer time in Oz, hard to beleive that it might get even hotter for you soon.

Looking forward to hearing about the Whitsundays, they look stunning on the pictures i have seen from my family who have visited there on their gap years. XXX
