Shhhhhhhhhht! Don't tell anybody else about this magical part of the world! The Curonian Spit, or Neringa, is fantastic. Imagine more than 50km of white sandy beaches, where you'll find your own private part even in high season Sundays, 100m high grey dunes with a marvellous view either on the Baltic Sea or the Neringa Lagoon and not to forget the picturesque little villages along the seaside. And even though tourism is now starting to rush over the spit, there's enough space and calmness to enjoy this stunning scenery. Oh I get crazy about it :-)

I'm now travelling with Jon from Australia, whom I've met in Klaipeda Hostel. We hired bikes on Neringa and did a trip for two days, down to the south to Nida and the Russian border. It's great to travel by bike here and yet we are most of the time alone on the newly built cycling tracks on the spit. Alongside the cost, through Mediterranean forests and with frequent stops at the beaches it's a real pleasure and recovery after the busy days in the cities :-)

Neringa is the place I've most longed for on this trip. So much that I was afraid that I could be disappointed by my high expectations. But never ever!
