Well. It has stopped raining. We are hoping that this is the end of the rain. They say it never rains here in the winter. They say this is highly unusual. We went for a hike along the ocean, climbed some rocks up to a waterfall and then went straight up the side of the mountain. Matt and I couldn't find the path at the top to take us down the valley and up the other side, so we hiked back down the way we came. I was a little concerned about the Puff Adders. I haven't seen one, but they say they are here. From the top, there was an amazing view of the ocean-Matt said that it reminded him of the California Coast.

We are still stranded here. The water is flowing over the bridge and nobody in the hotel can leave. They say it should be down by this evening or tomorrow. We have finally caught up with sleep and we got rid of the bugs. It has been nice being stuck inside together with no TV or other distractions. We have been playing cards and other board games together, praying, eating and talking. It has been nice. I wish life at home could slow down like this. It is very different over here. The stresses are different. I guess it is a toss up between convenience and comfort as opposed to feeling a part of a real community. Just something to think about. The people here seem so much more considerate and genuinely interested in you. The people here are called the Xhosa. The x is pronounced as a click with your tongue hitting the roof of your mouth. This is one of the poorest areas in South Africa, but is is such a beautiful place. The projects are going well as they are working together with the local chiefs and the king. We are hoping to go along with the one chief to deliver the bikes to his village--Matt and I will film it. I am excited to go. Please pray for sunny weather and light wind to shoot in. We will be posting the video of the lions in the next few days. It is really awesome. Thanks to all who have emailed. I received your messages and appreciate your advice and prayers. There are too many to respond to now, so I hope you don't mind this general message. Until then...

love to all,
Rebecca and Matt
