Well on Thursday i went to keep my friend company as she had to go to Nanjing hospital. A very different system to ours; first noticable by the fact people go to get moeny to pay for their appointment with the doctor.

Then you can see some pictures of 'mad busy street' at night (I must try and get some video of there before i leave). A wide variety of things are sold here - mostly practical and food items - as the customers are mostly students and locals of course.

Last night it was cold, this morning woke to frost - the coloured 'uggs' would keep you warm!!!

so on the bus this girl gets on wrapped up like - well like it is FREEZING - it is colder but I didnt think it was that cold... maybe she feels the cold more. But even the farily big trees are wrapped for winter.

so over the Yangtze river and on into town... into a department store, manythings you would see anywhere but some things were dfferent - especially the food.

i liked the way he carved the pineaple though!  After that i saw some what i think must be saffron - bought some anyway. then funnily enough when I was watching the Chinese medicine being made - the same stuff was added to the mixture.

Here you often see toddlers wearing these split pants and it's kind of cute to see a toddler toddling along, or sitting on Moms arm -  with little cheeks peeking out but certainly not something i would take a picture of though. If you have no idea what i am talking about you will have to look it up - though this picture of the split pants in the shop window should explain it enough... i guess it makes toilet training easier.
