This evening, after work, Rushi took me back to Fuzimiao - this time i got to spend time in the temple (isnt this pic o Confucius great) and look at Jiangnan Gongyuan - this is now a museum it shows how ancient Chinese governments choose officials. It was the biggest imperial civil examination school in China. The main building of Gongyuan was a three-storied Mingyuan Tower which is surrounded by 20,644 examination cells, called 'haoshe' in Chinese. (like in the pics below)
The area around Fuzimiao is filled with restaurant and shops of everything - from pets to clothes and food. We got one of these skewers with sugar coated fruit ( much like mini toffee apples except the fruit is not apple). At dinner Rushi took me to a noodle bar to let me taste duck blood and noodles made from Lotus.
I went to have a look at the local tea and was given a tea demo with tea to taste.
i atually got a few vids uploaded today!!! enjoy!
