Passed the area where the Youth Olympics will be held, they are building a tube between there and city centre.
The weather is hot - really hot - yest still the locals wear jumpers and coats! The streets are busy; there are trucks, buses, cars, bikes and bicyces and so many people everywhere! and the bikes, and more bikes!!! Really need eyes in back of head when crossing a road here. the lights change so its meant to be ok to walk but the vehicles just keep coming... from all directions!!! It makes being in a city even more tiring, yet the locals seem to just take it in their stride - they just keep walking, or stand in the middle of the road while a truck passes closely by to one side while a bus passes closely on the other. The Yangtze bridge was packed, again so many vehicles, it seems there's a special lane for bikes and bicyles, and its odd to see the occasional one going over on the wrong side against all the other traffice - its crazy!
There is a nice mix of large retail shops, small shops and street merchants which makes it very interesting. but hmmm mcd's, kfc and pizza hut pop up in a few places! typical!!!
Was offered green tea in one of the shops. I find it strange that i like it when i dislike tea at home so much!!
anyway its late i am tired and i am going to post this
hope you enjoy :)
Went into Nanjing centre on the number D2 bus. Oh my the buses are crowded! stood all the way into town about 40 mins maybe.
