sawasdee!

Against our original plans, we left Khao lak after only 2 days. this place was just too ghostly. The beach was really nice and the people very friendly, but this was just nothing for us two girls. Too few people, thos construction sites and, well, the fact that this was just a tourist village built around a highway didn't really appeal.
So, today, we took a tourist minibus (this time without Matrix II!) to Ao Nang, close to Krabi. The trip took us half a day, and we were dropped off right at the hostel we had pciked from the guidebook. Just like in Vietnam, they tried to bring us to the places they got a commission for - which surely were also oK.
We have a very nice bungalow on stilts set in a beautiful garden. The folks there are very friendly and being in a small alla\ey off the main road and at the very end of the village, it's very quiet.
Ao Nang is pretty touristy, which we find rather nice after khao lak. it's not overcrowded though and the beach is VERY beautiful: a shallow bay with fair sand, framed by the most amazing limestone cliffs. We'll prbably stay here until going back to BKK, taking in some motorbike trips, maybe some canoeing between the cliffs or some snorkeling.

I must finish now - we still have to book our 35-Euro flight back to BKK, before setting out to dinner.

Take care and thanks for all the mails!
