On the way back from the sugar mill we visited Mossmans Gorge which in located in the Daintree rain forest. The forest is extremely dense. We saw some wild turkey and were told about a bird that stands about as tall as me that you definitely don't want to get close to. Apparently, they can be very dangerous. Same rules apply to the cute little kangaroo.
Maura did not like walking through the forest. I guess the possibility of bugs landing on her was too much. M and M seemed to really enjoy it. After a 10 minute walk it opened up to a river. People were swimming even though there were signs everywhere warning people not to swim. A man from the UK and his son Angus were swimming. Angus almost got swept down steam as dad kept yelling at him. It actually was kind funny as he was not in any danger. They were both kind of portly and reminded me of characters that you might see in a Harry Potter film.
