Last weekend I made my second trip to Yangshuo. My girlfriend Blair was able to tag along on the trip. We took a bus to a small village outside of Guilin then rode a bamboo boat for a couple hours down the river. The scenery was awesome. We were able to see the mountains on the back of the Chinese 20 Yuan bill. We stopped the boat in the middle of the mountains at a little restaurant for lunch. After we made it to Yangshuo, we were all a bit worn out, so some of us stayed at the hotel room for a nap. We met for dinner and went to our usual place; it's this amazing Indian food restaurant. I could use some of their curry chicken and garlic naan right about now. Afterwards, we hit up a few touristy bars and headed for Monkey Jane's Guesthouse. My good friend Thijs just left Guilin to start working in the rooftop lounge there.

The next day we went on an incredible bike ride. It was incredibly, ridiculously long. We rode the bikes through the mountains, farmland, on roads, trails, tiny wooden bridges, anything you can imagine and for 7 HOURS. One of the girls missed class the next day because she was too sore to get out of bed. Bike rides in Yangshuo always allow for great camera shots. The scenery is amazing there. After the ride we made our way back to Guilin.

I will be going there again this weekend for an instructors retreat with my school. Can't beat a payed for vacation. Unless they give us a bonus for going, which has been a rumor. It wouldn't be the first time they've done that this semester.
