Weīve left beautiful , lazy Mendoza and headed to Buenos Aires. The trip was 14 1/2 hours by bus, but we booked first class, so had great / beds, supper, breakfast and 2 movies. It was very comfortable and we slept through most of the night.

The city of Buenos Aires (BA)  is huge, and again, there  are lots of cars and buses everywhere.
Weīre getting to be seasoned travellers, I guess, since we again navigated to our hostel using the city buses. This hostel isnīt as nice as the past ones, but is adequate. It is close to what we need and we can walk everywhere, which is great.

The architechure here is so grand!

It is hard to describe! You can only imagine how great this city was in itīs prime. We walked the widest street in the world, and admired many huge statues.

It was eerie to be where Eva Peron made her speeches and to walk where the many protests and dictaorship riots took place. The palace is  a very beautifu pink,  the congress building is huge. There was a lot of money in this city in years past!

There are still paint stains from the protests on some of the government buidings.

By a stroke of luck, the Star Princess was in BA on Saturday, so we made email arrangements to meet our new friends from the cruise ship. and spent the day wandering the shopping district and sharing some beer and stories. The beer was a good excuse to pass the time during a torrerntial rainstorm, but we really didinīt need an excuse other than friends catching up.

Loving our beef the way we do,we couldnīt leave Argentina without eating out at a good steakhouse, so we thoroughly enjoyed a 1 kilogram of T bone steak and some Argentinian Mabec wine from Mendoza at a steakhouse.

We are reading with great interest your travel experiences in South America. We, too are going there for the month of March and staying mostly in hostels. We are starting out in Peru and then Macchu Pichu and then BA , Mendosa, the Falls and lastly Rio. We would love the names of your favorite hostels, restraunts, and places of interest. Enjoy, enjoy, Sharon and Peter
